Library Building Grant

In 2023, the Bigelow Library celebrated 150 years as a municipal department in Clinton.  We would like to continue to serve the Clinton community for another 150 years or so as an active & vibrant resource.  The Town of Clinton is pursuing the possibility of grant-funded construction of a renovation or new library.  The letter of intent to apply was submitted on  April 28, 2023.

The Town of Clinton residents showed their support for this grant application at the 2023 Town Meeting, by voting in favor of a warrant article “that the Town vote to apply for, accept, and expend Massachusetts Public Library Construction Program (MPLCP) grant funds, if approved, and vote to appropriate and transfer from certified Free Cash the sum of $150,000; if said MPLCP grant is approved, said sum to be expended by the Town for library assessment, planning, feasibility and/or design.”

The full application is due May 31, 2024.  In January, the town will be hosting two focus groups to get detailed feedback from residents:
